Mike Sherman has been a Partner at MB Venture Partners since September 2006 after a 15 year career at Memphis-based Medtronic Sofamor Danek (MSD), a subsidiary of Medtronic (NYSE: MDT). Mike spent his first nine years at Sofamor Danek building the product portfolio by developing and commercializing several key product lines. In 1999, he assumed the position of Vice President of Technology Development, where his responsibilities included directing a product development team focused on minimally invasive and motion preserving solutions as well as technical and business due diligence on acquisitions, in-licensing activities, and strategic investments. Over the course of his career, Mike has amassed over 100 issued US patents on various inventions. Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Texas, Southwestern Graduate School. He serves on the Board of Directors for Anulex Technologies, Cayenne Medical, Calosyn Pharma, Expanding Orthopedics, Tidal Wave Technology, Veracity Medical, and Zyga Technology and is Chairman of the Board for MB Innovations.
