In April of 2008 Shawn McCormick was appointed Vice President of Medtronic Business Development. In this role Shawn is responsible for oversight and coordination of Medtronicís Mergers and Acquisitions, Licensing, Minority Investment and Divestiture activity.
In July 2007 Shawn was named Vice President of a newly created organization, Corporate Technologies and New Ventures, reporting to Michael DeMane, COO. In this role, Shawn was responsible for building an organization to help drive cross business initiatives and the development of new white space opportunities for Medtronic. Shawn also had responsibility for the Navigation and Science & Technology organizations. Shawn assumed leadership of Corporate Technologies and New Ventures after serving as Vice President Finance, Business Development and Ventures for Spinal and Biologics, Memphis, Tennessee, since July 2002.
Formerly Shawn was a Director of Medtronic Corporate Development — Mergers and Acquisitions in the Minneapolis corporate headquarters. He joined Medtronic in 1992 and has held various finance positions in Corporate and CRDM during his tenure. Prior to joining Medtronic, Shawn worked for the public accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick.
Shawn graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in Accounting. He is a CPA and received his MBA from the University of Minnesotaís Carlson School of Management.
