Melissa Daniels is a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, where she leads the healthcare investing efforts for the fund platform. Melissa has been at Morgan Stanley for 25 years, during which time she has been an active growth investor and board member in numerous medical device, healthcare service, healthcare IT, diagnostic and tools companies. Expansion Capital is the firm’s growth-focused private investment platform, providing both equity and credit for privately-held growth businesses. Expansion Capital targets investment in late-stage companies with proven, capital-efficient business models, demonstrated growth and market validation. Expansion Capital currently has five active funds under management, totaling $2B across equity and credit. Melissa is a member of the Investment Committee for Morgan Stanley’s Next Level Fund, a fund focused on investing in Women and Multicultural founded early-stage companies. In addition to her corporate boards, Melissa serves on the UNC Health Foundation Board, as well as on the One Life Counseling Board. Melissa earned a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
