Paul Saam is a Director of Strategic Planning and Business Development for Zimmer Biomet, currently responsible for the Biologics, Extremities, Sports Medicine, Surgical, Trauma, Foot & Ankle, Bone Healing and Connected Health Business Units. He joined the company in 2008 in conjunction with Zimmer’s acquisition of Abbott Spine. Paul has led multiple deals for Zimmer Biomet including acquisitions, distribution arrangements, license agreements and strategic partnerships. In addition, he has significant experience in integrations, playing leadership roles in the integration efforts for both the Abbott Spine acquisition and the more recent Zimmer Biomet merger.
After graduating with an Engineering degree from Harvey Mudd College, Paul started his career in medical device startups, driving two out of business within six years before returning to school to obtain his MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
