As Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, Deepak Basra leads the Strategic Planning and Mergers & Acquisitions activities for the Orthopaedic Reconstruction division of Smith and Nephew. Deepak is a graduate of Edinburgh University and also holds an MBA from Henley Management College in the UK. Deepak spent much of his 20 year career in the Telecommunications industry in a range of global Marketing and Business Development roles, following which he made the move to the Medical Devices industry where he has been highly active in both selling and acquiring strategic assets, including Smith & Nephew’s recent acquisitions of Osteobiologics, Inc. and Plus Orthopaedics. Deepak grew up in Scotland and moved to the US some nine years ago, where he now lives with his wife and three children.
